IUBMB-FEBS Youth Travel Funds Awards CLOSED

A limited number of IUBMB-FEBS Youth Travel Funds (YTF) awards are available to support participation of early-career scientists in this event. These funds will cover the registration fee (including access to the event sessions, name badge, certificate of attendance, book of abstracts, coffee breaks and lunches at the venue, as well as get-together party and workshop dinner, and shared accommodation in a twin room). The selection of applicants to receive IUBMB-FEBS YTF awards will be carried out by the Course Organizers on the basis of your CV, motivation letter, reference letter and abstract, and approved by the IUBMB and FEBS Treasury Offices according to the IUBMB-FEBS YTF awards eligibility criteria (shown below).

Application and notification of outcome:

Please check the guidance in the Registrations section of the website. Note that you will need to apply as a 'Travel Grant Applicant' and upload specific supporting documents.  

Applicants selected by the Course Organizers will be notified before 22nd January 2020.

Eligibility criteria for applicants travelling from the FEBS area of Europe and neighbouring regions:

  • The applicant should be not older than 35, should be registered as a PhD student at an institute of higher learning in a country where there is a FEBS Constituent Society OR an IUBMB adhering or associate adhering body OR should be a junior postdoctoral scientist within five years of having completed a PhD thesis;
  • The applicant must be a member of a FEBS Constituent Society OR an IUBMB adhering or associate adhering body and provide a valid certificate of membership;
  • The applicant should not have previously attended IUBMB Young Scientists Program OR FEBS Young Scientists Forum in the current year;
  • The applicant should not have received a grant to attend an IUBMB or FEBS Course / Workshop / Focused Meeting in the current year or previous year, nor a Bursary to attend the IUBMB or FEBS Congress in the current year;
  • The applicant cannot be a resident of the country hosting the event;
  • Young scientists from the Organizers’ laboratories are not eligible for IUBMB-FEBS YTF awards.

SBE Youth Travel Funds CLOSED

A 200-EUR limited number of Spanish Biophysical Society (SBE) bursaries are available to support participation of early-career scientists in this event.

The selection of applicants to receive SBE YTF bursaries will be carried out by the Course Organizers on the basis of your CV, motivation letter, reference letter and abstract, and approved by the SBE Executive Committee according to the eligibility criteria (shown below).

Transfer money will be done by SBE to the personal bank accounts to the awardees when the meeting ends.

Applicants selected by the Course Organizers will be notified by 22nd January 2020.

Eligibility criteria for applicants:

  • The applicant should be registered as a PhD student OR should be a junior postdoctoral scientist within five years of having completed a PhD thesis;
  • The applicant must be a member of the SBE at least until the end of December 2021 AND provide a valid certificate of membership;
  • The applicant should not have received a SBE YTF bursary to attend an Course / Workshop / Focused Meeting in the current year or previous year.

SEBBM Youth Travel Funds CLOSED

The Spanish Biochemistry and Molecular Biology Society (SEBBM) offers six 200-EUR bursaries to support participation of early-career scientists in this event.

Application and notification of outcome:

Please check the guidance in the Registration section of the website. Note that you will need to apply as a 'Travel Grant Applicant' and upload specific supporting documents.  

Applicants selected by the Course Organizers will be notified 22nd January 2020.

The selection of applicants to receive SEBBM YTF bursaries will be carried out by the Course Organizers on the basis of your CV, motivation letter, reference letter and abstract, and approved by the SEBBM Executive Committee according to the eligibility criteria (shown below).

Transfer money will be done by SEBBM to the personal bank accounts to the awardees when the meeting ends.

Eligibility criteria for applicants:

  • Be a member of SEBBM AND provide a valid certificate of membership.
  • Be registered to the Workshop and have paid the registration fee within the indicated deadlines.
  • The applicant should be not older than 31.

GERMN and GEQB ― from RSEQ ― Youth Travel Funds OPEN

Spanish Groups, Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (GERMN) and Chemical Biology (GEQB), from the Spanish Royal Society of Chemistry (RSEQ) offer Youth Travel Funds to support participation of their young members in this event.
